The 3-red light error refers to the three blinking red lights in the power ring when there is an error. They are basically the signal of a problem with the console. You might see the red light error for a few reasons but one of the most common is overheating. The console overheats when the heat sinks can’t properly cool the air down near the processor so this then fails.
